I am an aspiring writer in the Kern River Valley. This blog is a "test kitchen" to try different writing styles and to work through the many rejections and the handful of acceptances my work has received. But no matter what other people say about my writing, at least my mother thinks I'm a good writer!

My mother has good taste!

My copy of Midnight Screaming arrived in my happy little hands this weekend. As you can see from the pictures, my poem was the first in the book.

I can set the magazine on the bookcase next to my other poetry book with my work in it, "Concise Delight."

Kara Ferguson, the editor, even sent me a nice little personalized note- very classy. Thank you, Kara.

I need to stop blogging and get to work writing some new poetry now.

  1. How wonderful! I do remember my first published poem. I spent three years writing poetry, and never forget that experience.
It's a marvellous feeling, to see your published work. Congratulations!
    Carole.
